inspired

I was recently inspired to come back to this blog. Thank you, Andie. I really am losing track of what's going on from day to day as it's becoming a blur and I just really despise that feeling. Looks like I've been away since Mother's Day '09.

So, here we go. I read some of this blog to see some of the stuff we'd been doing last year. Lots of things are the same but many are different. The biggest difference this year is my size. Specifically the size of my belly. Our very last little family member will be joining us at the end of March (I'm already hoping it's a bit - or a lot - sooner), baby boy, or Guido, as daddy calls him.

Things that are the same: my Ruby is just as sweet and sassy as ever. She is the cyclone that helps make my world go round and on which I blame the majority of the messes around here. She is amazingly articulate and part of the reason for returning to this blog is to document that. I have to write this stuff down, because it is priceless. James is great, this has been a year of huge transition for him as he's battling middle school and while it was a rough start when it comes to organization with six different classes to go to, he seems to have it much more under control. He's in his - hmmm - can it be sixth? - year of hockey. He's always full of jokes and riddles and wants you to listen to a "funny Garfield" or test you with a math problem. He recently read the Harry Potter series with such amazing speed that I thought he had to be faking, but he takes AR tests on them and his comprehension is definitely there. He started the big, fat one (#5?) in school and by the next afternoon had it finished. Am I correct in saying there are 7-800 pages? Anyhow, he loves to read. My dear, sweet husband is still working his butt off, commuting 1.5 hours one way to 3m in Woodbury for ten hour days. I can't say enough about how wonderful he is and has been. Awe!

So, hopefully I can sort of pick up where I left off, starting today, and document some of this daily stuff. No promises how often I'll get updating, but with life's pace hopefully I can stay on top of it and write things down for my poor memory's sake.
