I just can't open this blog without smiling. Aren't those chocolate eyes on that sweet face just to die for?

We're taking a little break from that sweet face (or she is taking a break from us) as she's staying a few days at Grandma and Grandpa's house. She'll be home soon, and I should be running around cleaning and such, but all in due time. It will just go back that way is what I'm telling myself. And my bending over is so limited - I make a ridiculously loud grunt whenever I have to. Ruby's having a grand time at the grandparents', and Grandma is insisting that she finish up potty training NOW. So I expect that we'll have a fully trained (vs. about 2/3 trained) girl on our hands in a couple of days.

We (we meaning my wonderful, sweet, loving husband, primarily) have made great headway on James' room. The walls are painted, the stripes are almost done on the walls, the floor is primed and painted with its first coat, and we are headed to the great HD to get something for the floor trim. I'm hoping to make the floor look like a rink. I have a long list of things that need to be done yet... but it feels good to be getting somewhere. REALLY good. I'm very impatient, though, and I hate waiting for paint to dry. I have taken photos, but I will probably just do a progressive post with photos chronologically.

Floyd and I went to see Avatar. Our first movie in ages together. It was pretty good, although I had to leave twice to pee and had to take my blood glucose numbers about halfway through by the light of my iPhone.

And because I think pictureless posts are boring, here are a couple of shots of Ruby a couple of weeks ago, when I was moving my office into the studio. She made herself at home on this shelf with her MagnaDoodle. She recently started putting glasses on her people. Pretty cute ifIdosaysomyself.

  1. WOOHOO for progress! It sounds like you two are taking full advantage of a quiet house and getting things taken care of. I can't wait to see pictures.
