Friday night James was supposed to have a game. He came home from school with a fever of 104. So instead of hockey we went to the minute clinic. No strep, but he was miserable with something viral for a while. And because he was sick, no going to his dad's... since Jody (stepmom) is undergoing chemo her immune system is compromised. So we hung out here. Saturday he convinced me he was better and his temp had dropped to 99.3 when I gave in and let him play at his game. His skating was a little sluggish and I knew he wasn't 100% but he was pretty persistent and I figured he knew better how he felt than I did.
Floyd got shelves up in what is the 'closet' area of James' room. We also figured out how to put his lamp together. Building anything with three hockey sticks and getting it to work out - a challenge! Here's what it looks like:

I have many, many details I want to add to the room, but all in good time. I'll just have to update as I go because I'll be in and out of there. I need help with a few of the projects, and since it's once again the week my husband is no longer hostage to my demands :)
I spent a good portion of the day on Saturday cleaning out James' old/baby's new closet. It contained four large boxes which hadn't been opened since we moved from Albertville (going on 6 years ago?) as well as two bookshelves full of books. Books were sorted into big kid/little kid and throwaway... man it felt good! I threw away a lot of the stuff in the boxes. In fact, I threw away MOST everything in those boxes (don't tell my mom!) except a Sit 'n Spin that was James'. Ruby LOVES that thing and has probably logged no less than six solid hours on it since Saturday. The junk went to the trash and the spare bed from Ruby's room went into the baby's new room. So now she's got a ton of room and I get to decide how to make her room more friendly for her to actually play in there. Before it was just a jumble of EVERYTHING, with a full size bed, toddler bed, her lovely but monster kitchen, bookshelf, etc etc etc.
Have I mentioned how I love my husband??
Sunday James had another game. He skated harder - and felt much better. He still has a cough and complains his throat hurts a bit but overall is doing well.
Over the weekend I also had three photo shoots... a six month old boy, a one year girl and a family of three. It was exhausting in my condition - but fun.
Today I'm trying to get proofing done... Ruby's down for a nap so I figured I'd update this in the midst of the photo proofing. There is never enough time. A bit ago she was entertaining herself here in the office/studio with a balloon and then playing in the 'dress up' stuff I've got all over.

Is it just the pictures, or is Roobs hair getting lighter? I could look at her pretty face all day long.
ReplyDeleteThe room looks great. You've out done yourself. You get lots of mommmy points for this one.
