really, already?

Tomorrow I have a morning appointment. Then assuming we don't "go" by 8 pm tomorrow night, we are getting ourselves checked into the hospital. Arrangements have been made for James and school, for Ruby should we need it before my parents arrive tomorrow (thanks a gazillion, Andie!) and bags are packed (from our last week trip into L&D).

On or before Friday morning we shall hold our newest family member. Woah. It has all gone so fast.

We were on our way to Target to buy a few necessities the other night. It hit me that we probably should have a gift or something from baby to Ruby. You know, to weaken the blow and as a peace offering ;) Floyd suggested a dolly. I vetoed that because, well, I really don't want another doll/stuffed animal/etc laying around my house for me to pick up. What does she like? Hmmmm. She loooooooves music. So how about her own little CD player? Yes, an excellent idea. Floyd didn't want to "just" get her a CD player, after all we're not in the Dark Ages anymore. We had to get her an mp3 player :) So here I sit, simultaneously ripping a few kiddie CDs into mp3s and loading on her brand new Hello Kitty mp3 player. It was very, very reasonable considering what other mp3 players/iPods cost. Hopefully it lasts a while. We also got a cute little speaker that plugs into the headphone jack.

I think she'll think it's groovy. All I need to do is finish loading the music, put it back in the package, wrap it up and put it with our hospital stuff.

Hospital stuff... you'd think I'd know what to bring by now. Ha, ha!

She also pretends that her Tinkerbelle phone can take pictures. She needs to have this phone with her most of the time. Terrible parental influence on that one.

James went to the Wild game last night with his dad. He got to sleep in this morning and even skip school. Cuz we're cool parents like that.

Yesterday he came home from school and didn't even make it into the house. He plopped himself down in the driveway and read a book.

Next blog post, probably post baby. We'll see.

  3. Anxiously waiting!!

Getting Roobs a gift from the baby is a great idea. Christos clearly remembers getting a soccer clock from his little sister when she was born.

    You ARE cool parents.

    Good luck!!

And great choice on the gift - Maren would just die if she had one of those!

  5. I would have never thought of a MP3 player, though I think Maggie would love one too. I had to get her a camera of her own since she kept trying to use mine.
Sigh, I wish my stepson loves books like that.
I hope The baby comes soon.
