catchup.

Time flies when you're... mommying. I guess I can also say "having fun". Except for the middle of the night feedings. Those are not fun. But when I think negatively about it, I tell myself this is the last time I'll be doing this stage and it makes me glad and sad all at the same time.

Emmett is growing steadily. I only know this because he is growing out of his preemie and newborn sleepers. He's a really noisy baby. James was noisy and Ruby less so, and Emmett is the loudest baby. Not crying, he seldom cries. But he is a noise factory when he sleeps. He has gone from being up three times a night to eat to two. Hoping it stays that way (and continues to get less) His face is also filling out a bit.. I think that today he is one month old - he was born on the 19th and today is the 19th. I missed where that month went.



As I sit here Ruby is holding her cabbage patch baby, kissing it up, consoling it and saying it's okay. She picks up a letter "P" that is a fridge magnet and pretends it is a bottle and smooshes it into the baby's face. "That's okay, baby. You're welcome for the bottle."
We had just changed both babies' diapers. As I was taking pictures, Emmett was voicing his displeasure that I wasn't on top of getting him taken care of. Ruby said to him "It's okay, Our Baby. We will get your pants changed too."






She is still doing well with having baby around. The only negative is the potty training thing. She thinks diapers are cool right now. Not sure why. And the other thing I guess is that she cries to get what she wants. Which doesn't work, but I know it's because she sees us jump when baby squeaks or cries. Makes sense.

This past weekend was kind of All About Ruby. We only had the two little ones and Floyd decided he wasn't going to work so we took off to the children's museum and then to the MOA. I'd say it was close to a dream day for a nearly three year old.















Planning Ruby's birthday party. Her actual birthday is on the 24th (Saturday) but we are waiting til the following week to do a little party as my parents will be down then. She's requested a Dinosaur themed cake/cupcakes. We'll see what magic Mommy can dig up for that. I have a couple of cute ideas.
